A frame inside the frame
A doorway gives the eye an assignment. Look here. Wait here. Even before a figure appears, its edges separate the room we understand from the space we cannot see. Horror can turn that simple division into a promise it refuses to keep. The most interesting part is often the delay: an ordinary rectangle, a dark interior, and enough time for us to begin inventing movement.
Keep something unresolved
A creature shown clearly becomes a shape we can examine. A figure half concealed in a threshold remains a question. Is that an arm or a piece of the doorframe? Is the head turned toward us? For us, this is where negative space earns its place. It gives the imagination room to participate instead of filling every inch with information.
The wearable version
Our Doorway Watcher shirt carries that idea into a single white-on-black image. The narrow frame, hanging figure, and bed establish a relationship without illustrating a whole room. This is a note on our own design, not a review: the aim is an image you recognize across a room, with details that become less comfortable as you move closer.
